I fit in a quick core workout this evening.  I best stretch the a little extra this evening.  I’m feeling the last couple rides in the low back and buttocks.

Good day for a ride, temps in low 70s & dry. Stayed with McSween the entire way. We really humped it. This smashes my last personal best by more than 1.5 mph average. I’m surprised with the results. The core exercises and strength training seem to be paying off. We didn’t have much wind in either direction.  Seemed pretty still out there.

Had some tough head winds today, but at the end some tail winds helped get up some hills pretty fast. Worked hard on climbing “form” - breath control and cadence. Stood up on every hill and finished “bitch-hill” incredibly fast, thanks to strong tail wind. Stood up for nearly the entire hill [first time], which is a VAST improvement over the previous season. Starting to see some real benefits to core strength training.

Good ride with temps in the lower 60s.  That puts me just at 105 miles for the week.  I better not go out too fast this season.  After tomorrow’s ride I’ll take a break and concentrate more on strength and flexibility work.

These 43 year old quads are feeling the burn this week.
